Ford Fusion to Get Mileage-Boosting Option




The new Fusion will be equipped with start-stop technology. This option will cost only $295 and will be available on Fusions equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine as well as boost the fusion to almost 40mpg!

Boston.com writes:

Many gas-electric hybrids and some luxury cars already have the technology, but Ford President of the Americas Mark Fields says the company wanted to offer it on a mainstream vehicle.

Buyers will get their money back in nine months to a year, depending on how they drive and the price of gas, Fields said.

“With gas prices in some parts of the country being upwards of $4.50 a gallon, I think this will be pretty appealing for folks,’’ he said.
