As the average price of gas climbs past $3.51 per gallon, many drivers are looking to adopt fuel-efficient driving habits. Luckily for drivers of Ford vehicles, that’s easy.

Ford models have become available with a range of eco-friendly technologies that teach drivers how to save fuel. Since 2008, Ford has been introducing innovative tech that empowers consumers to conserve fuel and minimize their impact on the environment.

“Fuel economy and technology are consumers’ biggest priorities – and we have made them Ford’s as well,” said Mark Fields, Ford president, The Americas. “Our product portfolio reflects the investment Ford has made to transform our lineup in the past several years so our customers can be greener – and keep even more green in their wallets – than when fuel prices reached $4 per gallon in 2008.”

Ford’s growing lineup of green driving technologies and driving tips include:

  • EcoMode – EcoMode coaches consumers in the art of eco-driving using real-time feedback. in Ford’s own testing, EcoMode has resulted in 24 percent increase in fuel-economy.
  • MyFord Touch with EcoRoute – EcoRoute is a map-based navigation system that instantly calculates the most fuel-efficient driving route. The feature can be found within the MyFord Touch system.
  • SmartGauge with EcoGuide – This system is found on Ford’s lineup of hybrid vehicles. It can be found within the instrument cluster of the vehicle and it provides a range of data such as fuel and battery power levels. But it also coaches drivers to further maximize the fuel efficiency of their hybrid vehicle through real-time feedback and rewards.
  • MyFord Mobile – MyFord Mobile is one of the Blue Ovals latest innovations, and it allows drivers to make smart trip planning decisions that will extend the range of their vehicle, before they even get behind the wheel of their vehicle.

As Ford continues to improve upon technologies that help boost MPG, the automaker is also introducing new powertrains that deliver class-leading fuel economy.
